Swine

One of the challenges in feeding corn to pigs is in the conversion of the starch to energy. With many hybrids, the starch is crystalline and vitreous. The corn is usually ground very fine to try to offset this problem. Additionally many feed enzymes or use steam flaking in order to enhance the digestion of the starch. This costs money. With Master Choice Hybrids with higher available starch, these expensive practices are not necessary.

Poultry

The conversion of nutrients to meat and eggs is extremely important to the profitability of a poultry operation. One of the primary sources of energy is the starch. We know that there are significant differences among hybrids in the availability of the starch for the chicken. Masters Choice has fine tuned their plant breeding program to provide hybrids with a higher starch availability. This translates into improved feed efficiency with a modest amount of processing, providing consistent conversions and reducing costs for the production of eggs and milk.
